August 16 and 17 will be the last time we’ll be able to catch a Landlocked Film Festival flick together at the Bijou Cinema! (Historic Iowa Memorial Union building, Downtown Iowa City, IA)
Over the past few years, our collaboration with the Bijou Theatre allowed us to bring fresh new independent cinema to the University of Iowa campus and community throughout the calendar year. While the partnership had a number of great successes, this is the last summer the Bijou theatre will operate.
The Bijou has a rich, forty year-plus, history. It is a pre-eminent student-run theater that built a legacy presenting classic, international, documentary and art-house films to in our community. We have truly enjoyed our partnership with the Bijou, and are grateful for their service as a prominent and longstanding supporter of the arts in our Cultural Corridor. The show must, as they say, go on.
Landlocked returns to downtown Iowa City from August 16-18, 2013 for the seventh straight year. Join us at the Englert Theatre, the Bijou Cinema, and the Iowa City Public Library in Downtown Iowa City to check out new: animation, comedies, dramas, documentaries, international films, kid-friendly programs and even movies made right here, in Iowa.
